Comprehensive Annual Maintenancence Program
Printable Service Contract
With the proper care and correct preventive maintenance of your rescue equipment, you will
ensure many years of safe use. To maintain your warranty, Holmatro recommends having
your rescue equipment checked at least once a year by a trained technician with the proper
knowledge and the necessary tools. Gruber Rescue as an affiliate of Sutphen Corporation,
can carry out the annual maintenance on your behalf. Gruber Rescue personnel are Factory
Trained, Certified Holmatro Dealer Service Technicians (DST), and will perform the following:
All Tool Operating and Carrying Handles
•
Control handle is disassembled, cleaned, all bolts checked for correct torque setting,
re-greased and reassembled and checked for smooth rotation and automatic return to the
•
neutral position. Inspect carry handle for damage and fastening hardware and tighten if necessary.
•
Inspect LED light components for proper operation.
All Hydraulic Hoses, Reels and Couplers
•
Clean and visually inspect all hoses including pigtail hose on twin line tools and reels for any
external damage, cuts, abrasions and/or kinks.
•
Inspect hose reels for proper operation.
•
Check male and female couplers for damage, cleanliness and proper function.
•
Check dust caps to ensure that they are present, clean and working properly.
•
Perform static pressure check on hand lines to factory specifications.
Combi Tools/Cutters
•
Visually inspect for external damage and/or oil leakage.
•
Check blades for visible cracks, blunt edges, chipped out areas and distortions.
•
Disassemble blades, hinge bolt/pins, snap rings, clean and check for damaged parts or
any abnormal wear.
•
Re-grease all metal to metal moving parts with Holmatro recommended grease.
•
Reassemble and re-torque to factory specifications and perform operational test.
•
Check protective boot. Ensure that it is intact and properly fastened.
•
Inspect all decals and warning decals.
•
Accessories
→ Check pulling tips and chains for rust or damage.
→ Clean with WD-40.
Spreaders
•
Visually inspect for external damage and/or oil leakage.
•
Check arms for visible distortions, or damage.
•
Remove tips check for distortions, or damage and clean, lubricate tips and retention pins.
•
Disassemble spreader arms, hinge pins, shims, clean.
•
Re-grease all parts with recommended Holmatro grease, reassemble, re-torque to factory
specifications and perform operational test.
•
Adjust speed valve to Holmatro specifications.
•
Inspect all decals and warning decals.
•
Accessories
→ Check pulling tips, chains and cutting tip attachment for rust or damage.
→ Clean with WD-40.
Rams
•
Visually inspect for external damage and/or oil leakage.
•
Extend piston(s) to full extension and inspect for signs of damage,
•
Remove the cross heads check for damage, clean and lubricate.
•
Perform operational test to factory specifications.
•
Adjust speed valve to Holmatro specifications.
•
Inspect all decals and warning decals.
•
Accessories
→ Inspect all attachments including pulling chains for damage, clean and re-grease
→ Inspect all ram extensions for damage, clean and re-grease
Power Units
•
Visually inspect unit and protection frame for damage and/or leaks.
•
Check the pull cord/recoil for fraying or damage.
•
Check fuel system and carburetor for fuel related issues and recommend necessary
corrections.
•
Check exhaust/muffler, clean spark arrestor.
•
Replace spark plug, clean air filter.
•
Change motor oil to engine manufacturer's recommendations.
•
Adjust valves, if needed to Honda recommended settings.
•
Replace the hydraulic oil with Holmatro approved hydraulic mineral oil.
•
Check electrical motors for proper operation of ON/OFF switch and electric cord and plug for
visible damage.
Perform functional tests to ensure calibration and operation which include:
•
Check and adjust RPM's according to Holmatro specifications.
•
Check and adjust hydraulic oil flow to ensure maximum performance.
•
Check and adjust high pressure to Holmatro specifications (10,500 psi / 720 bar).
•
Check and adjust switch over valves to Holmatro specifications (2900 psi / 200 bar).
